                                 Chammanthi Podi

Chammanthi podi, also known as veppilakkati, is a roasted coconut chutney powder. It requires only few ingredients and it is easy to prepare. You can can store this for 2 to 3 weeks.

Preparation time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

  • Grated coconut - 1 cup
  • Dry red chillies - 3 or 4 
  • Curry leaves - 3 springs
  • Tamarind - small gooseberry sized ball
  • salt - as per your taste
Procedure:

  1. Take a pan or kadai.
  2. Dry roast grated coconut, dry red chillies, and curry leaves until it turns a golden brown color.
  3. After it cools down, put the mix into the blender.
  4. Grind well.
  5. Then add the tamarind and salt and grind for another 1 or 2 minutes.
  6. Then transfer into a glass jar (You can store it in here for 2 or 3 weeks).
  7. Enjoy!!!
