Preparation time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • urad dal-1/2 cup
  • Raw Rice-1 tbsp
  • Ragi powder-1/4 cup
Preparation:

  1. As a first step, in a large bowl, add 1/2 cup of urad dal and 1 tablespoon of raw rice.
  2. Rinse well and soak in enough water for 4 hours.
  3. After soaking for 4 hours, drain all the water and transfer to the grinder or mixer.
  4. Add water as required and blend to a smooth paste then add 1/4 cup of ragi powder. Blend for another minute.
  5. Add water slowly and scrape the sides. Blend to a smooth paste.
  6. Transfer to a bowl. Mix well making sure everything is well combined.
  7. Ferment in a warm place for at least 8 hours or until the batter doubles in volume. (If you are living in a cold climate, you can place the batter in the warm oven to ferment.)
  8. Once the batter is well fermented, mix gently, and add one tablespoon of salt. Mix well until the salt is combined. The ragi dosa batter is ready!
    Now you can make a yummy and crispy dosa!

    Now mix the batter gently and use the batter to prepare dosa!

                                                Dosa Preparation
  1. Firstly add a ladle full of batter on a hot tawa (pan).
  2. Spread the batter as thin as possible for making a crispy dosa.
  3. When bubbles come and it turns slightly brown, flip it over. Leave it for one second, then transfer to plate.
(If you want, take one tablespoon of butter and spread well.)
